Nation's Garden - Lake Sapanca

A route with heavy traffic. It is a route that is commonly considered to be within the city limits. You can reach the lakeside by passing through the Merkez, Serdivan and Arifiye districts. From Uzunkum, you can travel down to the lakeshore and take the bicycle path to Sapanca centre. This is a straight track. Since it is mostly within the city, you can find many points such as restaurants and markets on the route where you can cater to your needs. This route rewards cyclists with a stop at Sapanca Lake, one of the most popular locations in Sakarya. Lake Sapanca is a freshwater body of tectonic origin. The name of the lake in the past was Sophon; the region was named Sapanca after the domination of the Turks. Its length is 16 km, its width is 5 km, and its surface area is 46.9 km². There is a long list of things to do in Sapanca, one of Sakarya's favorite tourist spots. You can abandon yourself to the quiet and calm environment of Sakarya Provincial Forest Nature Park, away from the noise of the city; you can enjoy different activities around the lake, especially cycling (there is a blue-painted bicycle path around the lake), visit the historical Justinian Bridge and Maşukiye. You can also have a mixed breakfast in the village, sample the wild trout for other meals of the day, have a pleasant time with your children in Ormanya Yaşam Park, which is home to 53 different animal species and has a playground; you can opt for a ride on the balloons that take off from Sapanca, which is known as the most efficient air corridor in Türkiye. At the end of the day, you should stop by one of the numerous restaurants with a breath-taking Sapanca Lake view, where you can find many rich menu options.
