Samsun

Samsun’s history dates back to 6000 BCE, and it’s the most populous city in the Central Black Sea Region today. Samsun, which has been an important port city throughout history, was dominated by Kaskai, Hittites, Persians, Macedonians, Pontus, Romans, Byzantines, Genoese and Ottomans, and in this context, it has a rich archaeological and cultural heritage. Samsun is a transit route connecting the surrounding provinces with each other and abroad by road, railway, seaway and air. It is an important trade, tourism and cultural centre with its industry, nature and cultural richness. Moreover, it has recently become a prominent destination for Golf tourism.

Green Club Golf Course was designed by the world-famous golf course architect, American Kevin Ramsey, as an 18-hole links course type at international standards, built on 650 decares of land. The total playing field length is 6092 meters, with 72 par shots. There is a mixture of bentgrass and teevan on greens and festuca and loylum on fairways and tees. Green Club Golf Course is in the form of a peninsula surrounded by sea on three sides. In the history of the Deaflympics, the golf branch held its first competition at the Green Club Golf Course in Samsun. It also hosted the 2019 Turkish Airlines Challenge Tour.
