Akyazı, which is the starting point of both of our tours, is one of the oldest districts of Sakarya. Our next stop after Akyazı, which became a district in 1944, is Güzlek Plateau. There are more than 20 plateaus in Sakarya and it would be fanciful to say that these plateaus have been sufficiently explored.

Both of our routes start from Beldibi, a neighbourhood of Sakarya's Akyazı district, and head towards Boztepe, another district of Akyazı. With every stop, you become more aware of Sakarya's natural wonder geography.

Doğançay Waterfall, located in Sakarya province, Geyve district, Maksudiye village, is 600 meters above sea level and 25 km from the city centre. Transportation is completely over asphalt and the last two kilometers are on dirt roads.

çiğdem Plateau, located in the Elmacık Mountains close to Hendek within the borders of Sakarya province, at an altitude of 1,400, is covered with crocuses (çiğdem) in spring and autumn, as its name suggests. After Hendek, you reach the çiğdem Plateau by following a winding road in the direction of Göksu and Kurtuluş Villages depending on which direction you turn.

Dokurcun Village is the starting point of our neighbourhood tour in the Akyazı district of Sakarya province. Natural beauties such as çiğdem Plateau, Sülüklü Lake and Sarıgöl are among the frequent destinations of visitors who come from İstanbul for a day.

Keremali Plateau, located between Akyazı and Hendek in Sakarya, is 20 kilometres from Akyazı and 27 kilometres from Hendek. The plateau is one of the four plateaus located on the Keremali Mountain.

One of the favourite locations of our first tour is İnönü Plateau. You reach Erikli Plateau above by following the paths in the forest from İnönü Plateau, located at a peak point on a road that climbs northerwards to Pamukova.

Our tour starts from Karapınar, a neighbourhood of Adapazarı. Then we head to Katırözü Plateau. It is among the destinations where nature lovers go in summer and winter with its magnificent nature and vegetation.

Covering an area of 1,562 hectares, Acarlar Lake is reputed as one of the important tourism centres of Sakarya. Acarlar Lake Floodplain Forest is a first degree natural protected area.

Located in Sakarya's Kocaali district, Maden Stream and Waterfall is a good alternative for nature lovers. It is an ideal place for cycling in a lush environment, accompanied by the sounds of the stream.

We set off from Poyrazlar Lake and pedal to Akgöl, a freshwater alluvial embankment lake, to travel between Karasu and Ferizli districts in Sakarya. The lake was formed by the alluvial deposits accumulated by the Sakarya River, which passes about 2.5 kilometers away.

Soğucak Plateau, located in the Sapanca district of Sakarya, is a good alternative for mountain bike lovers who enjoy adventurous terrain and fascinating nature. Soğucak Plateau, which is a natural beauty among the forests in the high parts of Sapanca, offers its visitors different beauty in every season. Its size is officially 65.19 hectares, in reality 90 hectares. There are caves, streams and endemic species around the plateau, which has an altitude of 1100 meters. It is 35 kilometres from the centre of Sakarya and 20 kilometres from Sapanca.

Yanık Plateau, one of the largest plateaus in Sakarya, is the starting point of our route. Like other plateaus in Sakarya, Yanık Plateau also has wet vegetation. This means that a natural environment generously intertwined with green awaits you.
