Sakarya

Nation's Garden - Lake Poyrazlar

The traffic is medium and above until you leave the city. After turning in the direction of Karasu road, it is a quiet, straight route. There are gas stations and markets along the way. Poyrazlar Lake, our destination, features a camping area, restaurants, recreation area and market. Our tour starts from the Nation's Garden as is customary. Sapanca may be the first thing that comes to mind when it comes to the lakes of Sakarya, but when it comes to natural beauty, Sakarya promises much more. Take as an example Poyrazlar Lake, the ending point of this route. Although the 60-hectare lake near the Sakarya River in the northeast of Adapazarı takes its name from the adjoining Poyrazlar Village, this hidden Sarkaryan lake does not go unnoticed. You can take pleasant rides around the lake, a natural wonder which stretches 2400 meters. Poyrazlar Lake, surrounded by forests, is one of the most popular cooling-off and rest areas, especially in the spring and summer months. There is also a small floodplain on the south of the lake. This area plays an important role in the feeding and breeding of waterfowl. To date, 154 different bird species have been identified in this area. As to the aquatic life, the taste of tench, freshwater perch, redfin pickerel and rudd fish species, caught from the turquoise depths of Poyrazlar Lake, is extraordinary.
