General Information
An amazing train journey for you. The Eastern Express (Doğu Express) is an overnight passenger train operated by the Turkish State Railways. The train runs 1,310 km from Ankara Railway Station to Kars Railway Station, offering you an unforgettable experience with a trip through snow and beautiful landscapes.
The Doğu Express operates every day between Ankara-Kars-Ankara. The train consists of normal seat (pulman) coaches, sleeping couchette (kuşet) coaches and a dining car. There are 10 compartments in the couchette wagons and 4 people can travel in each compartment. Bed sheet, cover and pillow are provided. The seats in the compartment can be used as beds when desired. The dining car has 14 tables, seating ranging from 47 to 52.
The train is very popular. The peak season is summer when there are more pulman coaches. In the winter months the train is used by special interest groups such as hikers, photographers, mountaineering groups, university students and the train have more couchette wagons.
The Eastern Express completes its journey between Ankara and Kars in approximately 25 hours. It departs from Ankara at 17.55 and from Kars at 08.00.
The 17 Eylül Express operates every day between İzmir (Basmane) -Balıkesir (Bandırma) -İzmir (Basmane). The train has no sleeping coaches or dining car. The journey takes an average of 6 hours and 40 minutes.
The 6 Eylül Express service operates regularly every day between İzmir (Basmane) -Balıkesir (Bandırma) -İzmir (Basmane). The train has no sleeping coaches or dining car. The journey takes an average of 7 hours.
The Ankara Express from Ankara to İstanbul (Halkalı). The Ankara Express Service started its on 01/07/2019 and runs every day. The train departs from Ankara and İstanbul at 22.00. The train consists of normal seat (Pulman) coaches and sleeping bed (yataklı) coaches and a dining car. There are 10 compartments in the sleeping bed coach and 2 people can travel in 1 compartment. The journey takes approximately 8 hours and 40 minutes.
The Bosphorus Express operates between Ankara and Arifiye every day. The train departs from Ankara at 8.15 and arrives at Arifiye station at 14.27. The train departing from Arifiye at 15.30 arrives in Ankara at 21.34. Travel time of the Bosphorus Express is approximately 6 hours.

The Erciyes Express runs every day between Kayseri-Adana-Kayseri and completes the Kayseri-Adana route in 5 hours 32 minutes and the route between Adana and Kayseri in 5 hours 51 minutes.
The Fırat Express operates every day between Elazığ-Adana-Elazığ. The train has no sleeping coaches or dining car, and it completes the journey between Elazığ and Adana in about 10 hours.
The Lakes Express operates on the Isparta (Burdur) - İzmir (Basmane) line every day. It consists of 4 coaches with a total capacity of 262 passengers. The average travel time of the train (departing from Basmane at 23:00 and from Isparta at 22:30) is 8 hours 30 minutes. For passengers wishing to go to Burdur there are buses from the Gümüşgün Station stop to Burdur city centre.
