İlkay Olguncan, Vinayakram Selvaganesh, Swaminathan Selvaganesh

Namaste’ is a word of Sanskrit origin and means ‘I bow to you with respect.’ This ancient greeting carries the meaning of seeing the divine essence within oneself in another and merging with that essence.

Born from this very philosophy, the NAMASTE project brings to the stage the transcendent, culture-uniting, soul-nourishing aspects of music.

Ilkay Olguncan, Law Heritage Bearer, Law Virtuoso and Composer of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, builds a unique musical bridge for the audience by bringing together the mystical depths of the East, the ancient melodies of Anatolia and the modern jazz tones of the West.

Accompanying him on stage will be the world-renowned Selvaganesh family of musicians from India, bringing the Karnatic musical heritage, passed down through generations, to Istanbul audiences for the first time in Turkey.

Vinayakram Selvaganesh is a Grammy Award-winning Kanjira master and composer, a member of the Shakti group, who has made his mark on the world music scene. He also manages the Sri JGTV school, founded by his father, the legendary percussionist Vikku Selvaganesh, passing on the Indian rhythmic tradition to new generations.

His son, Swaminathan Selvaganesh, is a master of traditional instruments such as the kanjira, ghatam, mridangam and morsing. He will be performing alongside his father at the concert, continuing this powerful musical lineage.

The NAMASTE Concert takes its audience on a journey of rhythm and melody:

A unique fusion experience where the sounds of Anatolia meet the ancient rhythms of India, improvisation meets jazz, and tradition meets modernity...

Shaped by İlkay Olguncan's vision, this project aims to forge a universal bond through the unifying power of music.

The audience will experience both a spiritual and artistic journey, touching upon the feeling of ‘unity’ through music.

A loving greeting to the world: NAMASTE.
