Hattusha: the Hittite Capital
Exploring the Site
Hattusha, located in Türkiye’s Anatolian heartland province of Çorum, is definitely worth visiting. The remnants of the Hittite Capital date back to the Bronze Age, around 2000 BC. The site was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1986. The Hittites were a remarkable civilization. The kingdom stretched from the Aegean across Anatolia, northern Syria and to the Euphrates river.
